• Surgery for Achilles Tendon Rupture

Achilles Tendon Repair:

Achilles tendon repair allows direct placement of torn tendon ends together so that risk of distraction (lengthening) and repeat rupture after healing is minimized.  This is performed through a lengthwise incision centered over the torn ends.  Sometimes nearby tendons can be used to strengthen the repair in severe cases.
