- Open Carpal Tunnel Release Surgery
Open Carpal Tunnel Release:
Open carpal tunnel release is used for treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. It involves an incision in the palm and is used in cases when previous carpal tunnel release has already been performed, when there is wasting (atrophy) of the muscles at the base of the thumb that requires exploration of that nerve (motor branch) or when the patient prefers.
