Covid-19

Q&A: “Should I be worried about Covid-19?”

Being in the medical field, I get asked this several times per day… and the answer is yes, but only to an appropriate degree. This will get worse before it gets better. We don’t know if it will ever go away, nor do we know for sure if reinfection is possible.

One thing is certain: panic helps nobody. Heed the advice of medical professionals, not social media. Trust the US CDC recommendations and be confident in the fact that every physician, nurse, EMS worker and healthcare administrator is giving Covid-19 their fullest attention.

The best way to protect yourself and your family from Covid-19 is to follow all the same standard precautions to prevent the spread of any disease: frequent hand washing, using hand sanitizer, minimize contact with door handles, rails, etc. When traveling, it may be a good idea to wear a portable negative ion emitter to decrease the inhalation of viruses, bacteria, and air contaminants.

Also, be sure to get plenty of rest, take multiple vitamins, including Vitamin C, eat a balanced diet, and exercise regularly to improve your health and immunity. And please, at the first sign of fever and/or respiratory/breathing issues, seek immediate medical attention. – Dr Cyr #SASpine
